Without resilience, what is hope but a passing fancy?

a desert nonet

resilience is two coyote pups

traipsing warily in daylight

on a dare? rite of passage?

scavenging leftovers

gentrified desert

feeds everyone

but natives

needing

hope

Roses ask a lot of the people who care for them.

anchored in your garden

they turn a cheek when clippers appear

the honeybee steps into its tiny tear

to cultivate is to feed, amend their soil

tell yourself it’s to ensure healthy roots

but they know

you just live for the bloom

cross-bred to find a fragrance of truth

what is the scent of emotionally unavailable?

Everything – everything- comes with a cost.

what will you pay?

a good night’s sleep

smile lines, crow’s feet

cul de sac life with a side of hot coffee

secret revealed

friendship betrayed

confession

totality

guilt-free tears
