This is a late nod to our holiday for Love.

Six days after February 14th, I finally opened mail that my husband brought to me from AZ.

One of the gems: a Galentines Gift Bag, from my friend and Nevermores poetry partner, Marcie.

So much fun! I crafted a found poem from the snippets of words it contained:

Galentines Gift Bag

poetry goodies

a photo she snapped

card catalog entries

paint swatch names

and culinary P’s

a wintry journal

for walking with words

The news about dinosaurs

what could you see?

adventures in looking

Posy Pink please

pea bean and peanut…

such high esteem

and Field Notes for filling up

good information

On January 21, 2017 – 7 years ago! – I protested a presidency, carrying a sign:

WORDS MATTER!

They still do…and I may need to resurrect the sentiment and the sign in a few months.

But I’m grateful that my connection to both the Nevermores and the Poetry Friday  community has brought a happier understanding of those two words.

The Nevermores are seven weeks into our third year of writing poems every week. When we talked about themes for the coming year, connection seemed a perfect fit.

words matter

connected in time across weeks

sharing prompts, weaving words,

encouragement

bits and pieces of our lives

tucked inside

precious bonds of friendship

It’s Poetry Friday!
