In Celebration of National Poetry Month…
We have embarked on a journey to The Land of Poetry!
The Poetry Friday community is building a progressive poem.
Each week, a new line. You’ll find the weekly links below.
Come celebrate poetry with us!
Tabatha led us off… Look at our map (above)! Off to a Land of Poetry!
Cathy zooms us in for a close-up look! Towers of books! What do they hold?
Our poem so far…
On my first trip to the Land of Poetry,
I saw anthologies of every color, tall as buildings.
A world of words, wonder on wings, waiting just for me!
…..
Take it away, Donna!

Matt at Radio, Rhythm & Rhyme
is hosting our roundup this week.
Join us!
Patricia Franz writes picture books and poetry. She believes children, dogs, and sourdough have a lot to teach us about life, joy, and wonder. She has raised two boys, four dogs, and holds a master’s degree in Theology with a focus on children’s spirituality. Patricia, her husband, her Bernese Mountain dog, Bonny, and her sourdough starter split their time between the Arizona desert and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Oh “a world of words.” Perfect! I have a feeling this will be the best poem yet!
Wonder on wings…hmm, I ‘wonder’ where you might be leading us!
Patricia, I love your addition. Funny, I was going to say almost the same thing that Matt wrote (his being more eloquent, of course!).
Patricia, a land of poetry is a magical place that reminds me of my first childhood trip to a very tall, huge library filled with the wonder of words. Tabatha, Cathy, and you have returned me to my special magical place. I would love to fly with the wonder of wings back to that special place where I fell in love with books.
Brilliant! I loved how you moved the second line forward.
So fun! Love the alliteration in your line.
WONDERful, Patricia! Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Oh, how WONDER-full, Patricia! And those birds in the anthology city caught your perceptive eye. :0) I FINALLY got my post up today, featuring your fantastic “Ode to AND.” https://www.robynhoodblack.com/blog/posts/47651 T
Thanks for letting me share!
Patricia your /w/ line is magical, so delightful to read aloud and imagine this world “wonder on wings” Fabulous! You first three writers have set the standard high for the rest of us.
We really do love being in “a world of words”, Patricia. I know I’ll enjoy you taking us there! Wonderful vision!
This is already a magical poem. I love the set up.
Wow, Patricia. I paused with “a world of words,” but then I read, “wonder on wings” and the magic erupted. Love your alliteration.
Wow, do I love an eager string of alliteration! Excited to explore some of those towers, and thank you giving us wings to do it with, Patricia.
All those w’s…just for me. Yay! xo
Well this is a lot of fun! Can’t wait to follow this trail to find a treasure at the end!
