Prompt
The Nevermores …
Edgar Allen Poe most certainly inspired the name for our poetry group, though we have chosen to put our own twist on it.
“Nevermore” is a reminder of life’s fleeting moments and thus, why poetry is important: it is a way for us to treasure the unrepeatable nature of a moment, a one-time encounter.
There are five of us. Rose, Marcie, Erica, Ryan, and me. We share time and words and encouragement each week, with a poetry prompt.
Rose offered us three photos below. My contribution is below. If you’re inspired, join us! Leave your poem (or a link) in the comments!
Possibility
Does a still stone know
it was once a mountain,
when a humbled sun softly hung
its “Good morning”?
Does a brown bunny know
to grow means go slow,
stay to be safe, or go?
A day waits.
