for moms who carry us
give body, give life
for moms who accompany
in joy, in strife
the daughter, the sister
the friend, the wife
I’m grateful for mothers
who fill my life.
It’s Mother’s Day Weekend! For those blessed by motherhood, may you find gratitude. For those who grieve losses, for mothers and for children, may you be cared for and your grief honored. For those who wait, may your hope be made real.

Patricia Franz writes picture books and poetry. She believes children, dogs, and sourdough have a lot to teach us about life, joy, and wonder. She has raised two boys, four dogs, and holds a master’s degree in Theology with a focus on children’s spirituality. Patricia, her husband, her Bernese Mountain dog, Bonny, and her sourdough starter split their time between the Arizona desert and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

This is a beautiful tribute to moms everywhere! Moms wear so many hats and have so many roles – such an integral part of our lives. My mom has inspired my poetry writing (she used to write it) and I hope to make a mother-daughter compilation someday. Thank you for sharing.
