my march roars
waterfall of cascading days
grandson grows beneath an umbrella of smiles
his fistfuls of leaves,
tender, fine-motor patience
starlight toasts, dancing and dreams
celebration of wedding #3
my march hurtles
carried on waves of joy
bridal shower #4 and a milestone birthday
wildflower reminders from the desert:
slowing down is an option
one that my writing desk took seriously
the lamb basking in spring breathes
grateful
for auto-renewal of overdue books
despite deadlines and looming goals
a spine poem shines from my TBR pile:
today I am a river
no world too big
galapagos
animals in surprising shades
super small
smile out loud
wonder dogs!
mother goose bruce
the father goose treasure of poetry
a year of nature poems

Patricia, I adore your writing.
You inhale mere words and exhale poetic reflections,
We attempt to write life as it streams by, slip sliding over rocks, pooling in jeweled eddies, spilling out to meet the sea.
So much joy here! Thank you for sharing.
You have an utterly delightful way of chronicling your days: Wedding #3! Bridal Shower #4! Milestone birthdays! All of the accomplishments, all of the joy, all roaring by in a springtide whirl. No wonder you are a river, and there is no world too large. Your out-loud smile has made me smile, too – here’s to the little one, with his fistfuls of leaves, taking big, chomping bites out of life. Have a glorious weekend.
Cool spine poem! Love the specific details and imagery in your other poem — can feel the full-throated joy of your days — weddings, wildflowers, starlight toasts . . . sigh.
Patricia, what a fine feast of books in your TBR pile. I love all the roaring and hurtling your March is doing! You are busy!
It seems this is your ‘word bouquet’, Patricia, with all the feels of a special month, topped with your icing on the cake, the spine poem. Keep on enjoying the days!
What a great reminder to find the poem in everything around us, including a month that might otherwise overwhelm, and the gift of auto renewal from the library!
Loveliness in every word, Patricia. I especially love that spine poem that includes so many favorites. Thank you!
‘umbrella of smiles’ and ‘bridal shower’ steal the show! Loving all the joy in this poem.
Your writing has a way of making complicated topics easier to understand It’s evident how much research and effort goes into each post
Love this! So much going on but “slowing down is an option.” Such a wonderful line!
Ooh, I love the sparkling gems that spill out as your reflect on your month!
So many sparkling gems spill out of your March, Patricia!
You show us that joy and poetry are the backbones of life, Patricia.
Love these lines,
“slowing down is an option
one that my writing desk took seriously” – ha! 🙂
I love a spine poem, Patricia, as well as the way it became part of your March reflections. I love the way you have March roaring and hurtling, too. 🙂
