Poetry Friday: one little word
Patricia Franz writes picture books and poetry. She believes children, dogs, and sourdough have a lot to teach us about life, joy, and wonder. She has raised two boys, four dogs, and holds a master’s degree in Theology with a focus on children’s spirituality. Patricia, her husband, her Bernese Mountain dog, Bonny, and her sourdough starter split their time between the Arizona desert and the Sierra Nevada mountains. 
Patricia, I was thinking of linking the two but I started a new post for PF. I am excited to read your SJT post so I am moving quickly to it.

I enjoyed reading your post on Spiritual Thursday, Patricia, am happy you found a word that is meaningful to you, feels like a big sigh and a smile. I imagine “Deep” is a word that will carry you with much to ponder through the year. Enjoy the week ahead!

What a deeply thoughtful post. I appreciate the four-way exploration of experiencing things deeply, and lines like “a marble hugging the steep contour of my brain” and “indulging a passive-aggressive
line break” (which made me smile) show breadth as well as depth. I too am trying to get to the essentials in this time as we pack and unpack and sort and decide, and I too have pledged to do a better job of reading physical books–a deep pleasure that I have avoided for 25 years because it “got in the way of” doing life stuff. Happy 2023, Patricia.
